Styling Crapfest at the Detroit autoshow!!!
Have you guys been following the concepts and new model intro's at the Detroit autoshow?
Benz has yet to reveal the turdly new C-Class, but one styling disaster in progress caught my eye tonite...the new "Accord Concept"... Honda has never been a leader in styling. Great engines, effiecient design, etc...but not exactly a thing of beauty. Well, they must know this because they've cribbed a little bitt from just about everyone else's design language for this latest attempt at styling!
Its OK in profile...until you realize the cribbed BMW window kick, or the body line cleft from MB's catalog, then we turn to the front, and we find an old subie grille, Mazda headlights, and a sort of Scion TC shape. Its all a bit forced...nicely finished, integrated...but I see too many other peoples ideas in here. Its best angle is really rear 3/4, where it appears genuinely well proportioned. Oh, and the rear tailights...from the Opel Book. It'll sell like gangbusters...Americans don't have style, and we don't respect originality.

New Chrysler minivans....sooooo boring.
Ford actually has a couple of good cars out there.
Mazda's ditching its design language(because honda's cribbing it no doubt)
More to come!!!

This reminds me of a character in an old Japanese anime...like the bad guys face from "G-Force"...isn't that Gatchaman, or some ****?
