Question C Speakers

I recall some threads talking about the speakers in the C. What about them makes it difficult to upgrade without upgrading the whole system?

the bose system's speaker impedance is irregular (2.2 ohms vs. 4 ohms non-bose i believe). that's one of your worries.

What about us non-Bose owners. Is there any particular reason why we can't hook up Joe's speakers to our precision German driving machines?

no reason, but I have been told to hu is to weak to drive a good speaker, and it usally sounds worse after new speakers are installed.

Add a couple of good amps to drive the speakers and subs then you'll be just fine!

The speakers are are actually pretty good. The headunit sucks. With an amp, the headunit just sucks louder.

I’m not sure which headunit you’re referring to but Australian W203 comes with Audio 10 as standard. Bose is US$1000 option.

I've compared the stock system in C32 (Command - non Bose) and the C200K setup....from my opinion the system in the C200K sounds much better than stock standard and I'm not the person with trained ears for SQ but at least I’m quite satisfied with the result. I’m not quite sure whether the Bose system sounds much better than the non Bose, can somebody in this forum care to share the information on this?

but the steering controls wont work

If you change it, then all the techno features with the steering wheel will not work. well at least all the features that are associated with the radio. Thats the only reason that I havent entertained changing it out. I have the Bose system so it makes it that much more of a challenge to take it all out. All ten speakers, head unit, subwoofer... faggetaboutit. Not now at least.

Upgrade speakers first.

I had the speakers upgraded long time ago. It doesn't sound very decent but somehow acceptable. Comparing to the stock speakers, the aftermarket ones are much better. I have one Audio 10 purchased from Ebay. I will install it later and tell you about the difference.
