C240 vs C230
I have a loaner C240 while I get my first service done-- and a whole host of things repaired; including a key replaced that I think the shop cracked at my last visit. I know what you're thinking-- I have no interest in an extra button on my key.
First of all, these cars could not be more different in personality. My coupe is way more aggressive, handles better/harsher ride and feels quicker.
I am not knocking the 240. It is a perfectly pleasant car. Solid, smooth ride, more luxury. But the coupe fits my personality. In fact of the loaners (ML, E) and other Benzes I have driven, this is the first one that I think would be nice for my wife.

Overall, I think the coupe is an awesome- and distinctive-looking car. But I fell in love with the Panorama roof, 6 on the floor, and the growl and torque of the supercharged powerplant. Can't match with any car anywhere near that price IMHO.

C230 = can only take one chick at a time coz of the smaller back seats
that's why I chose C240.............................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .....................just kidding...
I dont think the C230 is for racers...
I dont know of too many 'performance' cars that the 230 could beat in a race.
Yeah, it is compared to a 240. But I doubt it would beat competitors like the RSX-S and Celica GTS. That doesnt really bother me however, I still bought one!
Good choice, You get both a sport car "AND" a luxury car in one. =)

As for the GTS...its not as fast as everyone thinks it is...I think its another car that's had some problems meeting the advertised HP...and even if all 180HP are there, you need to drive the thing like you hate it to get to where the fun is. Automatic GT-S' are an easy kill...the auto is a poor match to the torque poor, high reving engine in the Toyota.
I drove both of these cars extensively before I got my C... I probably would have picked the Toy over the Acura...the Acura is just sooooo boring looking...it looks like a Chevy Cavalier that's been riced.
One more thing...most of the Celica's and RSX's around here are the garden variety, running into a true Type S(not a badged base car) is pretty rare in my neck of the woods.
I sat in and drove a RSX premium before, not breath-taking fast, but it felt like it had a lot of pep. Not a big fan of the interior, looks too cluttered and fancy to me. On the other hand, the older Integra Type R was a great car. No fuss interior, fast, and, well, yeah, fast
Never drove it, just sat in it, so i can't comment on anything else. But it sure felt faster than my c-coupe.

In my races they were close on the start (dumped clutch very high) but as we got over 70 i gradually pulled all the way to 130 having about a 4 car lead
I have raced and beaten both. 0-130mph

The Type S isn't that quick off the line...its the shift to third at 52MPH that throws the C230 off the pace of the RSX-S. From 0-50, I'd bet on the Coupe. Beyond that, the RSX-S has an advantage, its much lighter, has better gearing, and its motor pulls better once underway. Off the line, the lack of torque is really apparent.

...and you dont see too many c230's on the road over here. but on the other hand, i know about 6 people with GTS's and 5 with rsx-s's....i like being different
