Does anyone know if there's a way in the C-Class NAV to input street names with the keypad?

When entering the destination info, when getting to the street menu, just put the first letter or two of the name then just pageup or pagedown till you find the street name and push the joystick in to enter. It will get easier as you get used to it. You may want to get the COMMAND manual from the dealer as well. Happy navigating!

Nav was the only option that I really wanted but couldn't get...

Now I have a blackberry and use "telenav" and it works great but man does the nav look sweet!

Thanks dude, I actually tried that already and it works decent. Would be nice if we had that cool function though, I would LOVE to put in the street name with the keypad..

Yeah my wife offered to pay for a lifetime subscription to VZ Navigator and get me a cool Verizon cell phone if I didn't put the NAV in lol. But now that it's there, she really likes having the MP3 names show up on the screen

On a different note, it's funny about MP3 CD's. If you put them in the COMAND head unit, the song name shows on the instrument cluster, and on the COMAND display. If you put the MP3 CD in the CD Changer, the file name shows on the COMAND display, but "Track 1" or "Track 2" etc shows on the instrument cluster

You know what? I don't own an iPod (well, I own the shuffle but that doesn't count) and while I've spent so much money on this car (just buying it really) I guess I can't seep popping for the extra $$$ to get the iPod integration. I have the AUX input mod, but seeing the song title on my screens is just TOO cool :p

I see. I didn't get the iPod integration either because I didn't see the need for changing the songs while driving. I would just play my playlist in shuffle mode. So all I did was connecting the iPod to the aux input in the glove box to play it.

And, i would turn off the comand screen right after I start the engine

See dude you're probably one of those guys that loves things to look clean, sleak, and non-cluttered, with everything stealth. I also love having things look clean and well integrated, but I get my jollies by turning on the car and having everything light up and be all techie. That's why I'm an IT Manager, because I just dig those gadgets

I'm driving a loaner now, my new baby is at the dealer. They're actually swapping all the components from an 07 C280 w/ COMAND & NAV into my car, and putting my stereo in that car. AND, get this. The dealership isn't doing it, they're contracting with this company (didn't say who) to do the job. The story I got from the service manager is that for the 2006, 2007 cars, it's basically impossible to put factory NAV into the car unless it came that way from the factory/ I don't know exactly why, you guys can speculate. This is such a complex job apparently that they're not having the service tech's do it, they're having this company that specializes in MB OEM NAV installs do the job (they guy's name isn't Steve, I asked )

I don' t know if this is just the case of the dealership not knowing exactly whats going on or if this is just a silly re-post and everyone knows this already. Just thought I should get the word out there.

Basically, for all you forum newbies thinking about buying a new MB, if you want stock COMAND and NAV, it's a lot less trouble to just order it with the car.
Another classic example of dealer bs. I have a 2006 c280 and I was able to install an original nav system (euro model) with no problem at all. The only thing you have to do is have the computer recognize the unit through star diagnostic. Only problem with the euro model is you do not get to see the map but you get audio instructions on turn by turn basis and also an arrow sign which shows direction of where you're going.

Wasn't Steve, it was another one of his guys. I don't know if he is normally working out of this area or not.
