I was messing around on the freeway yesterday in the C230 and was playing around with the touchshift (I enjoy shifting for myself). I was holding 3rd at about 6000 rpm and having some fun shifting around (was driving it hard all day), and for some reason I just shifted up to Drive (7th) and let go of the gas. The car stayed in 3rd for about 15 seconds afterwards until it realized I really want to shift up. Is it normal to have a delay that long, especially since it was revving so high? My first reaction was I broke something, but it was working normally afterwards.

if you are driving super aggressively, it will hold the lowest gear possible for a period of time, even if you have it in "D"

i noticed the same thing, when i drive it hard and try to shift say from 3rd to 4th at redline there is a large delay sometimes.
