MAF sensor..??????

sure you need to buy another? Try cleaning it
Soak the mass air meter sensor, NOT THE PLUG part just the sensor which is in the intake tube... Soak it in true green for 24 hours. Soak it in straight true green, no cut.
Using a ear-swab, clean the surface of the wires exposed to the intake
After its soaked, dip the same part of the piece in rubbing alcohol.
Allow 24 hrs to dry
Re-install
Take the $400 not spent, and buy some cool stuff for your car, that's not replacement parts lol.
I learned this here, dont give me any credit for it. I had the check engine light on, I cleaned the sensor, the check engine disappeared... Interesting! My unit was even covered in grease and still worked... The question of the night is
HOW CAN GREASE GET INTO A SEALED, FILTERED, ENVIROMENT?
I notice your in boca raton,,, dont ever goto mercedes-benz of tampa they are con artists.. THEY wanted 1200 to replace the air meter THEY GREASED... Theres your answer for the above question
Tell all of your friends too, MB of tampa is trash. 100% will bend you over and rape your wallet. Don't even drive there, they put spikes in the lot and double charge for repairs on flats...

Do a search my friend
I put up a DIY on this. I'm too lazy to look for it, but maybe you will.
I don't know about touching the sensor though. Just use the spray and wait about 10 min to reinstall.

Being a classic car dude, this thread led to the following question for me:
If there is a Mass Air Sensor, there is therefore a throttle body. Is a larger diameter TB available? That was always a good way to increase power....

well the sensor didn't get messed up from ME touching it, but it could get messed up if someone that doesn't understand electronics starts mashing away with swab.. Good points, not everyone has weenie nerd hands like me.
I like that cleaner stuff, but I can't say it will get it any cleaner, or clean at all. I had to use a swab, b/c how thick the grease was, NO aerosol would remove it. It needed physical removal, not just chemically broke down and then moved with compressed air such as what you find in the cannister.
Good luck, I hope you get it fixed...
Oh yeah you can get a new one on ebay here is a link to the replacement

There is one, was wondering if anyone had gotten around to making a larger one. Now, the next question would be if the TBs for the W202s would fit on the W203.....

^Thank you! Wait, where the heck can I get this? I bet that there would be even more power made with an optimized ECU, CAI, pulleys and exhaust. I would also have the intake manifold extrude-honed. I am sure that this combo would be good for more than 25 extra horses. Camshaft, ported head and Jet-Hot coated headers would add an additional 25HP too.

^Yeah, I see that. I'm buying a member's C32 bumper which will tie up funds for the next couple of weeks. March will bring the TB and ECU home...

No way. This is a nicely biased (weight) car that would not benefit from a heavyweight V8 in the front. Maybe $2,500 for all that and no increase in weight. Get a SC for $4,700 and you are over 300HP easy. A V8 would cost $6,000 or more (not to mention the cost of the conversion which would easily be an additional $5,000).

I heard of only once. C32AMG engine in the C230. The whole conversion was above $15,000. Never heard of C55 engines ported. For this kind of money I would get the entire AMG package and avoid the headache

^agreed, but that wouldn't be as fun. Plus, modding it yourself allows you to custom tailor it to your specs. Plus, it can be done over time, replacing pieces with aftermarket items as they wear out. I got over 305HP out of my Audi A4 in four years time.
