Seat/Mirror memory problem
I have an 02 C320 with folding mirrors a la Steve. Recently the drivers mirror has stopped responding to the memory position "1" but seems to react OK to other memory positions. It still functions from the manual positioning switch.
This all seemed to occur after I got an error telling me to check the lamps in the mirror. I found the wires were routed in such a way that they were tensioned in the folding position and both had snapped (one had an exposed end that may have touched the frame). I fixed this with extra wire and heat shrink tubing.
I am stumped on what to look for now. Any suggestions would be appreciated. There is no problem with the passenger side memory response. Is the memory unit for this function that delicate? Does it fail often?
