AMG Airbox retro-fitting into a M112
Hey guys, I just met up with Jody and his (freakin hott) E55 AMG.
Lemme say this first. his E55 is seriously off the hook. cf front and rear ends HREs, wow.
OK...back to topic...heres the deal. I tried fitting the C32 airbox of his onto my M112 C320. The AIRBOXES fit. great. however, the MAF on the C32 seems to be a bit smaller than the C320? so that part is SLIGHTLY smaller, but overall it fits great.
SO....heres the question. I asked JODY to see if his E55 part is bigger than the C32 (assuming its bigger b/c its a V8 SC), if that part is bigger. I'm gonna go ahead and buy that part and retrofit the amg airbox, (May I be the first one!)
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?
1. WOULD the E55 (part) be bigger and easier to fit on the M112?
2. SHOULD I buy/custom fabricate a Y-pipe to fit the airboxes?
anyfeed back, thanks in advance.

the AMG 55 kompressor airboxes are LARGER indeed. you would need the 55 splitter as well.
The C32/SLK32 airbox and the 55 splitter is at most you would need. I don't think the normal 3.2L need that much breathing. Not even our C32 does.
the 55 spliter all you need is the y-section and some rubber tube that's big and flexible enough to fit in the y-tube and went over the '0" shaped outlet on the 32 airbox. should be only around $50 in parts.

the 55 splitter on the airbox end is much larger than the C32/SLK32's airbox outlet that's why you would need to cut a small rubber tube that would fit the splitter end snugly inside and be able to flex enough to go over the outlet on the 32 airboxes.
