Question W203 Aircon Problem

I have a problem with the AC in my C230K that has left my regular independent mechanic stumped. On first start in the morning ( or after leaving the car parked for 5-6 hours ), the AC will only start blowing cold air after 6-10 minutes although the fan starts immediately. Previously, the cool air would come on fairly quickly, at least within a minute of turning on the AC. Once the cool air comes on, though, the AC performs very well. The AC would then also blow cool air almost immediately after short periods of stopping/restarting the car.

Full check on the airconditioning system revealed no leaks and refrigerant remains fully charged. Winstar diagnostics revealed a faulty evaporator temperature sensor which was promptly replaced. However, while further diagnostics revealed no more faults, the proble, persists. I would appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

Hey Bro - you need to give the pro's on here some more info. Update your profile to include your year, model, any mod's, mileage etc

Its the same question on every forum so far. It sounds like a stuck TX valve.

Thanks, Benzmodz. I have posted the problem at several MB forums, and have gotten suggestions such as faulty control unit, blocked expansion/tx valve, faulty pressure switch, faulty compressor. I have had a good look at it again recently, and ruled out the control unit. It seems that the compressor is not engaging when the aircon is switched on, until the engine has reached normal operating temperature. When the engine has cooled down, the problem recurs. Will get my mechanic to look at the tx valve and pressure switch the next time I take the car in.

Sounds like the exact problem I had on my car when I first got it. Dealer replaced the switch according to what it says on the statement of work.
