Problem with the brakes

3 days ago I replaced my front brake rotors and brake pads. Since then my brakes have been acting strangely... like if i give a really HARD stomp to my brake pedal (stepping it all the way as if it was an emergency) my car will not come to a sudden stop. it's as if my brakes arent working at all!!
another point here is that if i would step on the brakes repeatedly in pulses, the brake pedal will gradually get harder and harder and i would here psshh pshh pshhh (as if i was using a bicycle air pump.....)
any inputs????
thanks alot!

You have the classic symptoms of air in your brake lines. Bleed your brakes or you'll find out they are not there when you need them the most. Very dangerous. Before bleeding check all wheels/calipers/brake lines/master cylinder for leaks....the air has to get in somewhere. By any chance did you step on your brake pedal with the pads out and pop a brake piston out?

That sounds exactly right...check the floor around where you park in addition to the engine bay, wheels, reservoir, etc....for fluid deposits and/or leaks.

If your car is SBC-equipped you need to take it in, it's just accident waiting to happen. This has been previously reported. Apparently MB is discontinuing this feature in their new cars. It has shown up on the forums before.

Keep us posted by the way...

Definitely sounds like air in the system. Check for fluid leaks and repair if necessary, if not and/or afterwards, bleed system. Start bleeding on the right rear, then left rear, right front and then left front! Hope this helps!!!

Good Luck!!
