Has anyone out there with an auto put a pulley on the car yet? I want to know how hard the install is.
Thanks

I was going to post this, but since he didn't do it himself, it seeemed o/t. Yes, he had a Renntech pulley installed.

Even with an auto, the difference was really nice.

yeah I was just concerned about the install. I have a chevy master tech that said he could install it, but I was worried about the crank problem, or keeping it from spinning.

I don't have an auto or pulley, but I have to believe that there is a way to hold the flexplate still while torquing the crank. Old american trannies have an access panel in the bellhousing and you can cram a tool in there to wedge the flexplate to the housing so it wont spin. It's been said that MB has some kind *special* tool. This tool may just be a "chrome plated screwdriver" of some sort (if you know what I mean...). Depending on the diameter of the flexplate, it may not take much strength to hold the thing still. If there is no access plate, then maybe they screw a device into a spark plug hole that contacts a rising piston as the crank is turned.

If I had an auto, I'd crawl under there and take off the belly pans and see what's what.
