Anyone with indash lcd in their car?

I was wondering if anyone had an aftermarket in dash LCD in there car THAT also retained their stock headunit. (so i dont lose steering wheel control)

I wanted to have the in dash LCD with the stock head unit..but some shops want to charge 8hrs of labor to make a custom faceplate so it fits correctly.

any thoughts nad ideas?

Great...

yeah the problem is getting a clean install.

It is very simple ($30) if u want Only an indash LCD for the face plate.

The problem is if u want to use each DIN slot there... htey will need to make a custom face plate.. Not sure if anyone makes a "kit" that is cheap so that us w203 ppls can use both din slots.

good luck on the steering wheel control with aftermarket head unit.

thats a pretty insaine car AndrewEclipse... but I woulnt consider it a eclipse anymore at this point... appears to have s2000 tails on it and looks like you replaced 80% of the rest of the car to make it look that good.

yeah I wanted to find the part number for that bottom tray that is int the second DIN and fashion my own kit from that but I am not trying anything until I get another tray to test on.

PARTS CD would help this!!!

ENZE,

agreed, I hope u have luck trying to custom make the 2nd DIN slot cover. I would assume it might take a few tries to make a perfect snug fit around the new head unit or what ever u were gonna install in there.

Good luck

Yeah, I dont really consider it much of an eclipse anymore either, except for the body lines and hood that I used to design the rest of the car. Nissan Silvia S15 Headlights and yes your right Honda S2000 Taillight Conversions along with BMW M Roadster Gills. Its a bunch of cars in one, but I tried to make it look like it flowed together pretty well. It's in the shop right now, should be done in a few months with a crazy sound system courtesy of Panasonic.

Enze,

I am looking at the back of the bottom tray now. It says:

A 203 683 02 91

Does that sound like a part number. Looking at the tray, it doesn't look too hard to make it into a bracket. Probably only need a dremel tool.

Do u ever drive it on the street?

I drive it very rarely on the street. I have pushed the engine several times (12K in engine work) and it pulls very hard and very strong. I've only done one pass with the NOS (and the last) and it was just amazing. Ive driven a viper before too, and it felt much stronger than the viper. The car has been in the shop for 2 months now and for another 3 1/2 months undergoing MAJOR interior reconstruction. The sound system/multimedia system that is being put in will make the car completely undriveable on the road. (80K sound system) I will post pics soon.....

it sounds like a very fun car to drive to bad u cant do it much.

will the new sound system/multimedia make it undriveable because the money put into it?, or just the weight or anything else?

Everyone looks at the car while Im driving. Cops especially, thats the main reason why I cant really be driving it. Also, I have no rearview mirror (monitor there) and when this crazy sound system is done, there will be sooo many illegal modifications, fiberglass work, subwoofers, amps, t.v.s, monitors, cameras that I will get pulled over as soon as I get out of the driveway. Thats why its gonna be a trailer bitc# for a while until Panasonic buys it as their demo car.

Oh and yes, its a blast to drive. Very entertaining and the turbo sounds wonderful.
