PROblem w/ TRanny and ENgine?

So yesterday I brought my car in to the dealership b/c my check engine light came on and my tranny only drove on sec gear. So I found out today that the service advisor said since i had my aftermarket stero attached to my battery before it screwed up my whole ecu....i replaced my battery yesterday too since it was dying out. ANyways has anyone had this problem or know if this is true what he is saying or is he just bsing me?

Hmm...I mean no offense in this whatsoever but did you try checking if you have your car in "Wet/Comfort" mode? You know...the button next to your shifter....with 2 letters on the Button....for my '03 it is considreed Standard/Wet mode I believe...Wet mode or Comfort mode (in anybody else's case) I believe makes the car start in second gear. And what the hell is a STEREO in general supposed to attach to? your cigarette lighter?

well the amp wire is attached to the battery of the car...apparently since the stereo drained all the power from the battery it caused the ecu to glitch....

Definitely....Low voltage on "all electronic" controlled cars will cause all kind of weird things to happen not limited to screwing up the ecu and or any other electrical component. Low voltage make things run hotter and much harder!
