you can contact Steve / MBenzNL about it. I've asked about it before, but decide against it because of the cost.

There's a special tape you can use to cover it up instead of buying new strips. Someone did it here before on a granite grey sedan. I see the tape on ebay all the time for BMW's to simulate their "shadowline" trim.

Rear is 255/35 R18
Front is 225/40 R18
Tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport 2
AMG style IV original
Supagard protection coating and waxing applied..

Basically when you touch the wheel, it feels silky smooth..helps when washing, easy clean bec brakedust comes off easy..
I apply a Protector coating spray after each wash..

Prior was 17" adharaz alloys 225 front and 245 rear like the ones fitted to the sports sedan from USA..the sheen and quality is no match for original AMG's..

I used 5/8" gloss black 3M tape from the body shop supply store for $35 and have enough left over to do the car 2 more times. I'm very pleased with the results for the money, but it doesn't look nearly as nice as the factory strips without chrome.

how much is it anyway for this rub strips..aren't the rub strip units clip on..so once uncliped, can the chrome strip be removed from whatever clips it is attached to..then get those painted body colour..that way , it will look showroom condition rather than a DIY job..will last the weather as well..

once you get it, when you wash it ..you will end up taking more time cleaning each wheel ..front and back..i have enough small cuts getting the hand through the spoke and cleaning the inside..but it looks like it is just fitted new everytime after i wash the alloys..no black dust visible inside..my prior washing of car took one hr..now takes 2hrs..bec of the wheels..that is what AMG does to you..but trust me, it looks damn pretty after though..the sheen on them is outstanding..treat it with respect and it will raise heads..i have had people coming to me at traffic lights, saying nice wheels and the thumbs up..

another thing..try getting a better set of wheel nuts than what mercedes supplies..mc gard does an amazing set..worth the expense..merc wheel nuts do rust and corrode..even the service guy told me that..although when i did the new alloys..he swaped the nuts with new ones and put it under warranty issue..
it is always good to have a good guy on the inside at mercedes who will help if required and tell you the truth rather than rip you off with a massive bill..
although this only happens if you "treat" them occasionally with gifts of alcohol..

i only decided to get the amg alloys bec the wife curbed my old factory 17" sports alloys..since amg is fitted, she does not even dare drive my car..she knows i will go balistic if anything happened to it..
amg body kit go fitted and old facelift bumpers and sills were traded in..so it worked out perfect..

I hear you.. but I would have to lower the ride if i go with 19s. with the new bigger brakes on my 07, i want to make sure the rims that I get would fit, I think the C55 set would do a nice job. I am trying to find things that has the same offset but just an inch bigger.
