The key is worthless and cannot be reprogrammed for another car. It is VIN specific.

Really? I remember people selling their keys all the time and even those trying to buy a 3-button key for their coupe (because coupes came with just 2 buttons) so they can have trunk release.

They were buyng for the 3 button shell. Alot of folks were just buying them and transferring the circuit board from from a 2 butting housing to a 3 button housing. I was fortuante enough to have 2 3 button keys with my coupe and had the trunk release. They electronics are VIN specific and the blade is laser cut to your car.

Did you ever install the HVAC unit, and did it work? What model# is it? At that price, it may be worth the chance.

For those who didnt know, I wrecked my car one rainy evening in Houston after working 11 hrs on a project in a place with no A/C. Long story, but I was tired and was a tad over confident. Luckily, neither I nor my passenger were hurt but the coupe was destroyed :-(

I loved that car, Only thing I wanted to do was swap all my mods into a 6spd one. I didn't even get to take the Audio 10, Climatronic unit, nor my Kleeman alloy pulleys, along with some other accessories...

Below is a pic of the wreck back in Nov 2006, I don't know if it'll show.
