Help with Install

Im really thinking about getting Command from Steve. My only problem is the installation of the product. IM sure if i try to take it to the dealership they are either gonna take me without lube, or say it cant be done. Is there any recommendations on where i could get this thing installed correctly? I live in Texas and may possibly be going to Cali for a few months in May.

Cheers

You can have the nav done perfectly by flying Steve to your place, treat him with good food and a few good drinks.

You can also do the install yourself and have most of it working without ever reprogramming the car. You won't have the navigations arrows on the cluster though.

Any good high-end stereo shop could do it easily. And as you say, much cheaper than a dealership.

If you're going through the trouble though, I'm not sure why you're not looking into the aftermarket for better units.

........

i did my own install.... it was really easy... i purchased the euro nav from another forum member that purchasd it new from steve....

just follow the directions on this link to remove the cluster and the old head unit...

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...dio+10+install

it appears that i did not need to purchase a wiring harness..... only thing im waiting to install is the gps antenna (on order)......... for me the nav was bascially plug and play......

-good luck...

Wait, didn't you say you'd allocate the funds to the principal of the car? Or did someone get a bonus! - just messing with you.

I'd say if Sunman/Steve can't come, try a high end stereo shop (in some way all electronics are the same - whether MB or Alpine), I'm sure they can install it for the basic radio/CD functions and make it work with your speakers. If the arrows don't appear, then take it to the dealership for programming - shouldn't take long so you save on their labor rate, in fact, they may do it free if they think your car came with it and is still under warranty.
