It's a hit and miss issue, some cars get by without doing the xenon=present and some need it. Even some will work fine for a few days or months and then start doing it. There are some kits on ebay, one for $119 that will come with a special cable for MB cars to increase the draw to match the halogens.

That is a nice trick in the video. Not having the front CAN programmed for xenon=present can cause this problem.
There could be another problem. The front CAN determines the current flowing in the headlamp circuit by measuring the voltage across a known resistance. If the voltage supplied to the lamp decreases, the current flow will also decrease. When you start the car a lot more current is required to run the ignition and motor electronics. This extra current may be enough to make a small voltage drop triggering the front CAN to exercise the lamp.
Why does the voltage drop? Could be a battery that is a bit weak. Only a test on a Micronics tester (or equal) will tell if the battery is good. If your 2002 car is still on the factory battery, that is lucky. If you have replaced the battery with other than an OEM battery, it is probably under rated for the car, and that can be a problem. Here is a tip for anyone who might need a battery. Call Roadside. They will come, test it, and if needed replace it for the cost of the battery. The service is free. The OEM battery is not that much more than an under rated battery from Sears, an auto parts store, or Costco. If you pull into a dealer, they will add about $100. for labor.
You might also have a poor connection, most likely on the battery terminals, but it can also be the wires to the front CAN, the headlamps, or the alternator.
Hope you get it resolved before you get a fix-it ticket.

yea my car replaced battery once couple years ago because i listen to my radio for nearly 2 hours in my garage, that time i still don't have HID. For the battery, you don't have to pay for labor if you call roadside assisstance, only do if you do it IN the "STEALERSHIP" -- that's what my SA told me lol
and i am sure my battery is still okay...
anyway, i think Mr. B answer my question, is a hit or miss issues... some car will be lucky or not, but i use my HID for couple months no problem, and now i am lucky!!
for Fix-it ticket, i hope this won't happen, if i get pulled over i will turn my engine off then my light will goes back on

Of cuz, BMW 3 series was something I was considering... but the cost was VERY FAR APART to get the same stuff, I have to go for a 328i, and then add each and every feature... as for the cost... you can imagine... A LOT higher than the C...
As for the lights... are you going to replace them at all? Or just gonna run around like that..? doesnt it look kinda... ugly? But anyway, is it illegal to drive with one light burnt out? I see those kinda cars here all the time, and the cops dont even bother to stop them

I dont believe so, But they may, i will check what type bulb it is. But it isnt the bulb that clears the error msg. Its the wiring coming from the ballast i believe. Contact them to see the specs. But yeah i 2nd with cloudz, the kit is amazingly easy.
