Emm i am not sure probably a passive crossover. I agree with you about the dyna. Before i purchase it i listend to Boston Z6 (top reference line). The boston is extremely accurate and extremely bright in every detail. Its catchy at first but i find it boring after a while. Thats how i ended up with dyna (its cheaper too haha) How do you fit the 7" woofer on your door?

With a door pod, i believe you can fit 8 inch there, but depth will be an issue, one way to get around it is to remove the speaker grill on the door and mold it somehow. That'll be my next project if i decided to go for 3 way system. How do you find the midbass from those 6.5??
I need to treat my door with a lot of sound deadening + foam to get it sound right. Dyn woofer is rather hard to work with, but once done correctly, awesome, sometimes i listen without a sub, very crisp albeit can't go very low.

a 3 way system will produce better mid range but its hard to do, i would love to see it when you done. The mid bass on Esotec is quite good actually. Works just fine with bandpass box set up.

Too many to list
Everything looks great and professionally done, but not feeling the deck and EQ. Looks out of place and not flush IMO. How's the sound? Any vibrations from the trunk? I have a 10" sub in the back and it vibrates like crazy when I crank up the volume. Any ideas on how to get rid of the vibrations? Thanks.

Out Of Control!!
With that much black plastic around the radio, it doesn't look good against the brown wood trim, imho. Would be better to swap out the trim for aluminum or something more custom. Otherwise, looks great.
Is it the shadows of the pic, or does the top part of the plastic dip in where it meets up with the wood trim?

Most double din unit is flash and no good if you are after sound quality. That particular Alpine is very good for the job. Add few Dynamat and fat foam in the trunk lid, and wedge open the ventilation grille on the each side of the boot with closed cell foam to keep it from flapping when bass note hit, that'll do the trick. Oh some reinforcement on the plate number too.

I agree thanks for your comment. As far as my system goes the Alpine Deck is the weakest point. However, the Zapco does help boost up the signal considerably and I want to enjoy my system for a bit before upgrading the deck to Pioneer P90 or Clarion HXD2. The Alpine double din W200E is a nice head unit, but its sound is no match for the P90 or even the cheaper Clarion HXD2. If your system is strictly for music, then you should stay away from the double din monitor head unit, but if you want 5.1 surround sound then the Alpine W200E couple with Alpine digital processor H701 is the best choice.

Usually sealed box takes up more wattage from the power amp and if it is powerful enough it shake the car loose when you crank it up!! Sealed enclosure is best for movies and Sound Quality application. If you wanna go loud, sealed box is not the way to go. What you need to do is check your amp if its powerful enough for the sub and change the box design to either ported or band pass and make sure they use thick 24mm PCM wood!!
One thing to keep in mind about ported box in our benz is that our rear seats are foam and plastic and its harder for the bass to get through unlike japs car. So, the bass from ported box will loose it strength traveling in to the passenger cabin. As a result you will hear the bass "inside the trunk" not in the passenger cabin with ported box. So in your case i would recommend you to mount the 10" sub the same location of stock sub. Or if you want loud bass(less accuracy) then go for bandpass box. hope this helps

love the trunk setup except the head unit and the EQ...looks 90's.
I would seriously get on their *** for making you a Kleeman enclosure. lol but if it doesn't bother you then all good.

Thats a good idea Frank, may be i get them make Polish Aluminum face for my deck with Kleemann lazer engravings. However, would you think it would match with my wood trim interior??
