Info wanted
Hello,
New member on the board. I have been lurking for about two months now and I have some questions. I have done many searches and have found useful information. My question is...If you bought your Benz today...used...what would you look for? I assume most of you have encountered some issues and learned alot about the car. Mine is a 2002 C240 with 40K on it. The car seems perfect, but I want to make sure nothing is overlooked. Tell me some problem areas, maintenance tips, general stuff, ect.

I think there is a thread with some common problems, look at all the stickys in the W203 forum.
On the '02 models there was a big replacement of turn signal wiring harnesses. At 40k yours might have been completed already. Also, there was a fitting that leaked transmission fluid too. This was a pretty easy fix and you can take a flashlight and shine down to the belly pan and check for leakage. Some '02's had ignition issues where the keys would stop working all together and the fuel tank guage can be freaky at times. The guage can drop down to nothing and then a day or two later it may work again.
There are probably many more, but these come to mind as I know a few have dealt with the above.
