HID Light Kit

hey i was wondering if you had to do any fuse changes because i bought a light kit and installed it. it works when the car is off but as soon as i ignite the car they turn off and blink once in a while trying to light back on but don't. i was reading the installation manual and it said i might have to change a fuse but the fuse boxes on my mb c230k don't have any diagrams so i don't know which fuses are for the lights..... any help would be great thanks!

That might be why u have to go to the dealer....With my kit it was just plug and play...No need to change any fuses because of the controller.

Wow that is beautiful! are you gonna leave the rims stock or change them? cause white looks best with nice shiny rims.

I love that color really class and clean slick too.

I have a question about this. Since you just replaced the bulb with a xenon kit (i.e. bulb, ballast, plug, etc..), how are the halogen assemblies set up (as far as lighting is concerned)?

Basically, what I'm referring to is the high beams. On the Bi-X, there is a flap that changes the angle of the beam with a secondary halogen bulb (H7) (also used for flashing). Now, are the H7's dual filament bulbs? If they are not, does that mean that you lose the functionality of the high beams and/or flashers when you upgrade to an HID kit with the stock halogen assemblies or is there a secondary bulb just like the BI-X?

Anybody who has a halogen assembly or has done this upgrade can answer. I've got Bi-X, but just curious for those who decide to do this upgrade.

Thanks.

If i get time this week i will take pics for you at night, so you can see how they look on the road and then with high beam. I have no problems driving at night. Both highbeam and low beam work fine. Only thing i might change is the temp of blubs they can be to bright for some taste.

So how does that work then? Since HID bulbs do not have filaments, is there a secondary bulb in the halogen assembly/housing that acts as the High beam (as in the Bi-X) or is there some sort of "new" HID bulb that I don't know of that can act similar to a dual filament bulb, in that, it can be used as a low and High beam?

Excuse my ignorance (since I have Bi-X in my car), but I think it would be important to point out for anybody else that wants to upgrade their Halogen setup to Xenon/HID.

I also feel the original bulbs are not white enough, have you guys experience any problems with the Philips 6000k? any malfunctions? and how long does it last for? thanks in advance!

Changing out City Lights

Hello LMING,

How did you get the city light out to change it? I was told to just tug on it, but when I tried, they don't seem to budge. Does it take a lot of force to pull out or do I have to twist them first or something?

Thanks!

Original one was Philips 4100k,

tenchi_dono, you need a small hand and pull from the plastic part, it needs a lot force for the first time.... heh guess it's tight...

HID conversion

Hi all:
I'm new to this forum, but I've done some search on the hid conversion installation. I got a H7 kit, but I am not if I can install it by myself. Any suggestion where I can have it installed in Arlington, VA area?

Based on the instruction came with it, I should put the cables to "ground". Does it mean the (+) terminal of the battery?

Please help & thanks in advance

Depends on what type of kit you purchased. The ground is not to the Battery, it should be to a ground on the car. But if you didn't purchase a plug and play kit than you will have problems with MB's computer giving you an error.

You'll have to be more specific on the kit, perhaps a picture of it.

it's a MTEC kit. The kit includes ballasts (igniters are built into the ballast).
Will get some pics of the kit soon.
