MB makes too many different shades of colors.... most other car companies have the standard colors like the basic crayola crayon box when we were kids... and there always has to be someone in the class with the deluxe box with like 128+ colors.

haha, well i've never been to one before either and i arranged this one so i could finally attend my first gtg, it went fine...just expected a larger turnout, but it was decent...got to see a lot of mods that i've been considering, a lot that i was curious about..learned some new things, met some new people...definitely a lot of fun

Hey Guys,

Great time at the meet. It was nice to finally meet everyone we've been talking to lately. I'm definitely going to get some pics up really soon. It's about 12:45 am, but I finally got to logging on. Damn bad hi-speed connection. And they're charging me $41.99/month for this??

Anyways, quick stuff before I get these pics up (which I had to download from my camera to my sis-in-law's laptop, then from her laptop to mine via a 32MB USB drive, then from my laptop to my home PC. Yeah, my work laptop requires "admin" privelages to hook up a camera. And I couldn't take my sis-in-law's cable from her.

As for my car, yep KevBlah, you're right....I got it shipped from Autobahn Motors over in Belmont, CA all the way to RI. The local stealers were quoting me ridiculous prices for their used 05's. And they didn't have the color I wanted, so they were able to find some in DE and PA. But, even with the $800 it cost me to have a car carrier drive it over 2,600 miles to me, it still ended up costing me about $3,000.00 LESS than the stealers here. And mine has the COMAND, the H/K system, and the BIX, which the ones in DE and PA didn't have. Go Figure.

The color is actually Capri Blue Metallic. Yet another one of those blueish colors MB has. There's Orion Blue (very baby blue), then mine, then Midnight Blue, Diamond Black, and Black Onyx (blueish/greyish/blackish). The orion was too light blue, and the others were too dark, almost black to me unless you had the sun reflecting off it. So Capri Blue it was.

Yeah, &^$#* hurt when I got my finger stuck. Didn't realize these meets could be painful. Funny because we were just talking about the First Aid Kits, and then I go ahead and get my finger jammed. Yep, it was in the slat right above where the hood opener is. I wanted to drop the hood down a little bit to check for any chips. Basically seeing if it was worth putting on a clear bra like rlee has on his. And wouldn't you know it, once you get the hood down to a certain point, the struts no longer hold it up, and BAM!!!, down it goes. What did it was me trying to remove my hand from inside the grille. And the sharp plastic on the slats cut me really good. Be warned, it hurts like a mother. Thanks KevBlah for coming to the rescue !!!

After the meet, I went to check out the auction they were having at the park. Some really nice cars there. They auctioned off a Bugatti race-type car for $1.6 million!! The car auction was yesterday, but they still had quite a few of them in the tent. Then before heading out, I decided that since my car was pretty clean, why not take some pics. Well, here they are. BTW, mine (for now) is pretty much bone stock, with the exception of the illuminated door sills from Jerry at formymercedes. Love to read any comments from the rest of you guys/gals on the forum. For his first ever effort, and only being on the forum for about 2 months, I think KevBlah deserves a standing ovation for getting this all together !! It was 5 of us, plus dnasty8305 coming by afterwards. Great time and glad we all got to check each other's rides.

 

Ok, it's almost 2am. This has to be my last one. I decided to park my car a little closer to the auction. There's mine in the back, peeking between an E-Class and another C. Hey, why didn't 3555 (license plate) show up at our meet??

One final pic of mine as I was leaving. And nope, I didn't purposely set my wheels up so they lined up exactly. Yes, if you notice, even the valve stems are towards the bottom.
