Reset Service Indicator Light
Any body here know how to reset the service indicator on my Merc C200 Kompressor 2001 (W201), so I do not need to go to the stealership for service? Much appreciated.

DON'T JUST IGNORE THIS...DO THE OIL CHANGE/MAINTENANCE REQUIRED...or we'll probably see you around more in a couple years...all for bad reasons too...
use the SEARCH FEATURE...it's very good...better to dig up a merged/old thread than to start new ones that junk up the place...specially if it's something that has been discussed several times (e.g. FSS Reset).

Turn key to on position (the position right before it turns on your car)....hit the buttons to get to your menu on your dash that says "XXX miles until Service Y..."....hold the reset button till it is reset...

Reset Service light
ive searched and read through many threads i need to know the process of resetting the service light for an 06 c230 with a v6 supposedly it is different for this model year.. mercedes service want to charge me 125$ to do it as they say the software needs to be updated.

Turn the key to on position (don't turn the engine on) and use your steering wheel buttons and click til you get A service or B service at XXXX miles. Then hold the reset button that is located on the instrument cluster, near the temperature gauge (should be on the left side). A note will appear and it'll inform you to hold the button again for another 3 seconds to reset the service mileage. Good luck.

I tried resetting my service indicator as you mentioned from the previous thread but it only reset my mileage from the last start. The service B indicator remained. I have the Stealership do my oil change ($70) and I changed the cabin filter and completed the inspection myself. My brakes are still good to go. Is the stealership is the only one can do this? help..

Mann..it doesn't work...I contacted Escondido MB and I was told that I have to get my Service B with them to get it reset which I think is BS! or find an independent mechanic that has the computer to reset the message...That is $300 to be wasted...We the consumer should have the option and not to be stuck with STEALERSHIP to do our Service....I own a 5 Series BMW and never encounter such BS..I am thinking of getting rid of this car and get me new 3 Series....

heyy i recently had an oil change and they didnt reset on the computer in the dash if could help me i would appreciate it

please stff...it has been discussed. I was told that you may not need star diagnose to reset the Service A/B indicator. That's how I interpret your post, but if you were looking for information about the oil content reset, it automatically updates the content of oil.
