BIX melting
WTF happened? Can I replace the red connector or do I need to replace a lot of things?
Any ideas?

it happened to mine and Drex can vouch for it as well b/c he saw the smoke and sparks.
I'm not sure if you can replace just the connector, but the dealer changed my entire headlight.
good luck.

This connector carries about 25,000 volts. It requires a lot of respect when working around it. If you don't have the skills to work with high voltage, you should seek the help of a pro.
I wish I had better news for you, but it looks like an expensive repair.
do you think itss the 10K bulbs that did it?
looks like you need to replace the igniter (red connector)
you can get them from Steve, but you need to take the lens off the headlight to replace.
soo look into and if ur car is under warranty they will replace the wires for u. i almost 95% sure that there is a recall about this issue.

Thanks for the offer, but I still have my frosted lights as well. I haven't messed with them since I installed them.

That is not a result of material melting but is a result of material being damaged due to an electronical short...and yes - you need to replace the igniter (get an igniter repair kit) and a new bulb.
greetingz,
