COMAND off-road position

I recently purchased a euro comand for my 04 c230k. im using the 01/2004 nav cd. It will eventually show my position on the map but it is next to the road im on ad not on it. so im classified as off road and never receive directions. im located in the chicago area. also my position is always about a 1/2 mile behind where i actualy am.

thanks in advance!

That has happened several times on mine. This is fixed by ejecting the DVD NAV disc and repacing the disc. It performs a system reset.

Did you input your tire size on system settings, sometimes that will fix the lagging problem. Ditto on system reset, make sure disc is clean to. I have fixed small scratches with Plastex polish.

But the 04 CLK didn't have a DVD Nav, it's CD Nav.

Try upgrading your disc/cleaning it, it sounds like a problem with reading the CD rather than with the unit itself.

I have most of the 2007 Navigation CDs for sale if interested...
one CD = $35
two CD's = $60

These are ORIGINAL NAVTEQ Nav CD's for MB COMAND,
not cheap copies with a stick on label that will possibly get jammed in your COMAND disc slot and catch on fire !

Jan 2007 Release
Discs #2 - # 10

PM me or e-mail me if interested:

I doubt that. COMMAND 2.0 gives a CD READ ERROR whenever it has trouble reading. I once had a COMMAND with a bad drive and it behaved that way. It also does that with very scratched discs

Were you able to input the tire size with EURO command? I saw it on the US spec, but was never able to find it on the EURO

Steve (MBenzNL) did it on my EURO COMAND using his STARDIAG System.

I was able to input the tire size. The nav actually located me for about a half mile stretch then put me off road again. It shows me next to the road im supposed to be on and the lady says something about my position is not located on a digitized road. But im on major interstates like Rt 80 and Rt 55 Near Chicago

drive to a intersection that you know it's on the map. go to system and set up the system. all should be self explainatory.

What version

What version of disk do you have? I also live in ChiTown and the roads have been modified since the version I have. You already know this living in the town of the constant street improvements!!!!!

When I am driving on ramps and such it always says I'm offroad due to the fact they have been reconfigured and I have a 2002 cd
