Do both if you are going to do it. You might as well do it right!

The theory with drum brakes (what's on the inside of the rotor) is that if one drum is more worn than the other and the diameter is different it will have different braking properties and you could spin out if you have to depend on your emergency brakes to stop. In reality, not likely to happen, the drums barely get used at all. As for the disc rotor side, until the pad beds to the new rotor, the braking characteristic will be different so be careful the first few hundred miles.

so I guess it will be just a lot smarter to replace both so I wont expect anything. I mean most likely nothing is going to happen if only one is replaced but there is still a chance even if its only 1 out of a 100 chances right?
