Are these wheels crappier than the one's that were supposed to come on the 2004 C230 Sport?

I guess it depends on your taste. The 2004.5 sports came with the funnel spoke style wheels that were staggered. IMO they're a bit crappier but not bad at all.

Geez, you guys are pretty loose with another guy's money...

First, welcome to the forums. Second, if it were me I would simply drive the car for a few weeks to just enjoy it for what it is. Then...

You can start off with some minor and easy mods, such as:

1) the clear marker lights (don't listen to the clowns from CA where they don't have vehicle safety inspections... the Euro strips will instantly attract bad attention from your vehicle inspection station, if not by the cops before.)

2) DFWdude's WHITE STAR Flat Badge is also easy if you think the upright hood star reminds you of your daddy's Cadillac. There are only 140 on the planet, so this is a quick and VERY unique mod. Avoid the cheap plastic SLK flat badge from the dealer. Search this forum on "White Star Flat Badge" in the title to find the right thread.

3) Window tinting is always a good look that also keeps the interior cooler in Summer.

4) The clear look of the '05 halogen lamps is an excellent update that is not as expensive as switching to the HIDs. People here who install the HIDs will have some of the clear halogens for sale. Depends on how much you drive at night, really.

Then, go hog wild after that, if you feel like it. HTH

Thanks Bob! This will be a great start for me. I appreciate all the pointers! I just ordered the clear markers and I have an email out to the guy with the White Star Badges. Tint is next.

Thanks ricers!

OZ Superturismos? I'd like them more if they had a lip or multi-piece version.

Welcome to the board. I have the exact same car you have. The C7 wheels look much nicer than the funnel wheels IMO.

If you want to conserve money and keep her somewhat OEM, here is what I would do:

- Drop it an inch with OEM 2004.5 + springs
- Tint
- Flat hood badge from DFWDude
- 05+ Grill
- Keep the kit and wheels. I think they look great!
- To keep with period looks, buy OEM frosty Xenons. I picked mine up here from a board member for $250.
- Sprintbooster for cheap performance.

Enjoy your car. It's beautiful!

ayyy welcome,

I think you should do the typical upgrades.

1. clear projectors, corners fogs and blinkers
2. amg front bumper
3. lip spoiler
4. flat hood badge and CL grill (or just starless is fine)

and your good to go. then you can step up into different mods, like shoes, suspension, exhaust, etc. all the goodies

if you are gunna do one thing to it, the single most noticable option you can do is getting bixenons...i would go genuine mercedes, not depo, but thats just me. Rims are big, but not the first necessity...DROP THAT *****! i recommend the H&R cup kit...its gloriously amazing and lasts, and lowers it nicely.

If you really want to mod the body, go for it with whatever kit you like. I usually search around a lot till something interests me, however you are pretty limited with this car in the way of bodywork. I honestly am a fan of the "if it aint broke dont fix it...but for gods sake dont repair with a factory part!" philosophy of modding...

i.e. some ******* rearended me...spent the little extra to get the AMG rear apron instead of the original stock one as a repair. i rearended someone (...grumbleStoppedShortOnTheFreewayTheStupid*****g rumble...), spent the 200 extra and got a Carbon Fiber hood instead of stock.

OH, and one last thing. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT.
Throw a widebody kit, some 3700 spoke race wheels, and an underglow kit on it, but dont forget the Carbon Fiber 3foot wing you need to bolt to the trunk lid! oh, and i know a GREAT place for some shredder graphics!

Question: If I throw some 19's on the car and leave the suspension stock, will it look like sh!#? Will it rub?

Actually, the 7 spoke wheels came standard on all 2003 & 2004 Sport Sedan Models. The 2004.5, 2005 & 2006 have the 5 spoke staggered wheels.
