Exaust tubing questions

Before I take everything apart... I have a question regarding the 3.2L V6 plumbing.

Can anybody tell me what the width of the tubing is after the header throught the cats out to the Y joint is? Is the tube width the same after the Y joint or is is it larger? Are the tube size the same for all V6s or do they vary across engine displacement?

I've been thinking of replacing the whole thing once I get my grubby little hands on a set of headers.

Thanks!

Got your PMs, the M271s exhaust piping size are 2.5" IN/OUT if I remember correctly from my header days (which is the in/out size of the cats you were interested in).

If you think about it, Eisenmann exhausts are universal from C180 to C320 back in the day... if that's true, I'd say piping on all these models may be swappable.

JP,
I'm not to sure on that because in my quest for AMG exhaust for my C-Coupe, one of the major problems was the diameter of the tubing being different for 1.8L M271 / 2.3L M111 engines vs. 3.2L M112 engines.
If they were the same across the board, then why would AMG make 6 different sets of exhausts for the range of C-Classes ?

Have no clue - it just always irked me about the piping eisenmann used on their exhausts. I only speak for the M271s if anyone is using the above info .

I have a y pipe off a c320 at home. If I remember correctly the two pipes are slightly smaller before the join into one. I can get the exact measurements at home.

05 M271 piping w/o resonator after the secondary cat is the same size as a c320 piping w/ resonator.
