Question Resetting memory system

After reversing, my right side mirror does not return to its original position. Only after pressing the memory button repeatedly does it go back. Also, if I store a new position, it doesn't remember it.

I had the problem before. I'm rather sure it's a software problem. What MB did was just 'resetting the memory system'. But as my car is now out of warranty, I don't want to pay big bucks for this resetting. Does anyone know if I can do that myself? Thanks.

This was happening to me. I took it to the dealer and they reset it, works fine now. I don't have the manual (bought it used) but it might be documented in there somewhere.

Yes, I'm aware of this issue, so I do have it pressed. The side mirror moves down for reversing, but it does not move all the way back up. I didn't find it in the manual. Maybe I can just call the dealer and ask?

Ahost: Have you had the issue resolved? I am experiencing the same problem; the dealer fixed it by resetting the memory, but the problem has returned a week later. It takes 2 to 4 pushes on the memory button to get the mirror back to its original position.
