They Stole It!

Thank god it was only my star. Now i have to replace it. I'm having a difficult time making the decision of getting another upright star or a flat hood badge. What do you guys think?

This is how it looked when it had the star.

OMG that is sooo old skool. Remember they used to do that in the hood, in the 80's and make the star into a necklace pendant. LMAO damn vultures.

btw, go back to the star. So Classy.

Sorry to see and hear about that BS. I was clandestinely hoping my old star would disappear when I wasn’t looking so I could tell the Mrs. we “had” to upgrade. I anticipate your poll results will heavily favor the flat ones.

My old star is just sitting in the spares box. It is yours for the asking….if you want to go that route.

Can you take closer pictures?

Depending on whether the surround is still in tact or not, I'll trade you straight up for my upright star. I have mine just sitting around and was about to take it apart, but this may be a good situation for both of us. I'd need to see closer pics of your current one first, before making a decision.

I think i'm just going to go ahead and get the flat badge. I'll let you know if i change my mind though. The surround is in perfect condition. Were you planning on making a custom one?

Removable emblem

I worked for MB parts back in my teens...when people stole the emblem for necklaces. We had stars that were removable. I am 99% sure they were aftermarket, but I cannot remember back that far. I never cared much as I thought I would never be able to afford a Benz.

Anyone know if this is still an option?

Jim

Get the flat one since your car is looking pretty sporty now

BTW, Sexphere's flat emblem was stolen too a while ago when he still had his W203.

I don't know if they still offer the removal benz emblem.

I bought one for my parents' 300 SEL before, but of course, they forgot to take it off the car and it got stolen again. I think they had 5 total stolen from that car back in the day!

There is a removable one on ebay for the W140. I'm guessing it won't fit on the 203?
