Thing is, I'm almost 30, so I'm not exactly "young" anymore. I work in the entertainment industry and do decent for myself and just don't waste my time justifying anything to ignorant people. I've heard it all before. Even people who I consider "friends" give me crap for owning a "C Class". My answer to them is always the same..."When I'm rollin' down Sunset, whose car do you think will get more attention and looks? Your stock 2002 S Class or my Cleanly modified and unique C Class?"...That's right. 9 x's out of 10, it'll be my car...hahaha. No matter what, they're both still Mercedes Benz.
That's the whole thing, the more attention we give to people like that, the easier it is for us to get sucked into the BS, instead of concentrating on the fact that we'er ALL enthusiasts. We all have our own personal tastes and preferences, but I have no reason to bring ANYBODY down. If one person chooses to have a limited mentality, that's their choice, but doesn't mean that I'm going to associate myself with them or validate their insecurities.
Enough of my soap-box speech. Main thing is, as long as you enjoy your car, it really doesn't make a difference what anybody thinks.

You wake up the same as any other day, improving, hopefully making your life better, one day at a time, looking forward to doing the same things you've always enjoyed, or even new things as they come along.
The only thing that changes, is the perspective of younger people around you, of you. And suddenly you recall thinking some time in the past as someone your age as being old...and now you're that age...and yet, you feel the same.
Ha, after I split the meet Sat., I met a lady in Laguna Beach,
and ended up going out with her on Sun. at Dana Point...
drove back around 9pm, (dang, was hopin' she'd take me home...he he) and woulda been home around 3 but one of the bottom pans had all but one of the screws fall out..
and the damn thing was dragging on the road. Had to drive for a few miles with my E blinkers on till I got to and exit, Mostly a pain, trying to fix it
on an exit off I5 in the dirt, wore a hole through it, and the exit I was on stunk to hi heaven like Cow ****e. Thought I was gonna hurl.
I can barely get my arm under the car, had to use the crappy jack...rearranged the bolts that were left to hold it till I can get new ones.
Got home at 5am as things were....better than sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. The road was still deserted a 5am, but at 6...it'd been a different thing. Coffee!
