Thats what I'm afraid of if I replace mine. I do alot of freeway driving. I have been waiting to see if I get another crack before I replace it. Almost a year and still nothing. Only the crack growing larger.

yeah i got coverage but its a $ 200 detuctible, which is not a huge deal once a year or so but i don't wanna pay $200 every month for windshield repairs. the crack is not small its about half way down the windshield from the top but luckely enough it shot straight down on the very right side so its not bothering me at all.

2003 C240
Hey guys, I have a 2003 C240. While driving on the highway where there was paving about to be done (rough surface), I had a rock hit my windshield and caused a small crack. I'm checking my insurance policy to get that taken care of, however I have another problem, and was wondering if they were related or not, and/or if anyone knows the solution. Almost immediately after the rock hit my window, my wipers started to malfunction, stopping and going whenever they chose, and when I turn the wipers to the off position, they stop in the middle. Did the crack cause the sensor to go haywire? Is it just the timing off or sumtin? Any help before I have it looked at?? TIA.

dude...8k? holy **** man...what cost so much? i mean, Im really curious, or was that just an inflated insurance estimate?

Annnnyway...the W203 windshields arent bad, in my 6 years with my 01 ive had 1 crack, and fixed it and havent had a problem since. rock chips in my bumper and fenders, on the other hand...christ almight my bumper is practically perforated. CF hood i've had for a year has held up well though, no rock chips to speak of (i guess the plastic of CF is more resilient than the soft german paint). freeway is my most common driving...its brutal *thinks about how much he hates trucks*.

I hope your luck improves...that sucks but luckily you have coverage for it...the 203 WS's are expensive as hell cus of the rain sensor and stuff

You call it bad luck or what you want to. It started for me on my honeymoon in Hawaii when we rented an SUV and drove it around the Big Island and car in front of us swerved into the emergency lane, kicked up some gravel and boom, a huge spiral in the windshield, no insurance was purchased. Now a few weeks ago driving on the highway a rock came from a car and hit us in the exact same place and made almost the same spiral crack as the SUV in Hawaii. Thank god I just changed my comprehensive from $500 to $100. The windshield was only $872 installed and the only place that carry it is the dealer. Beat that.
