2006 W203 Build Log

Background on the car- I bought it last July with 12xx miles. It was imported into the states in February and repo'ed in May. I flew from St. Louis to Miami to get it and drove it home. The guy that owned it before me didn't even have it long enough to peel the plastic off the floors and put the floor mats down. I believe the repo was the result of a divorce. Bought it from a broker in Miami that only deals in repo'ed and off-lease high end cars (mine and a couple 3 series being the cheapest he had). The money I saved was well worth the $100 to fly there and $100 in gas home. It still had/has the new car smell- the new car everything- but the price. Ohh- did I mention the broker took me for a ride in a Lambo?

I just finished up the suspension work and a few body mods (grille, emblem, marker lights, debadged the rear, etc...). I have already taken all of the interior out and got the deadening done. I plan to get started on the enclosure and false floor in the very near future.

Equipment- Rockford 3sixty, JBL GTi Mkii components (active), JBL W12GTi Mkii sub, a/d/s/ P840, Arc FD1200.1, Monster XLN Pro RCA's, Knu wiring and dist. blocks, and eDead.

I will try to add pictures every evening as I make progress

I'm just curious, How much did you get the car for? and does this repo guy have a website or something. The mods look like they are going to be sweet.

The guy picked me up from the airport and took me to the showroom. It was something to see.

It worked out pretty well. I have family a little north of there in Cocoa Beach that I hadn't seen in several years. I called them up and asked if I could stay there for a while- naturally they said yes. Nice house, pool, about 2 blocks from the beach- a room to myself- and naturally a cooler of beer. I stayed for about 5 days and made a little vacation out of it. I didn't spend hardly any money and it was at a time in which I could certainly use a vacation- both from work and everything else that was going on.

That place is owned by a couple of Hacian (*sp?) Islander'ish looking/sounding brothers. Very nice guys and seem to know high end cars very well. There was a scratch on the hood of the car up near the wiper cowl about an inch long. If you weren't looking it over hard- you would have never have seen it. They did a fantastic job on the touchup of it. Either way- I decided to see if I could get them to give me some money back since he assured me there were no scratches of any kind. At first he said no- then I politely asked him to take me back to the airport- it only cost me $100 to get there- so it will only cost $100 to go back. He then offered $500 off. Although I have a buddy that works at a body shop- I said no- $1k or I go back home. He offered $900 and I politely accepted

I used to live in the Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island area. Seems like they treated you nicely. Nice bargaining about the scratch.
