I picked up an E500 on tourist delivery last month and had a good chance
to try it on everything from switch back roads to autobahns. It is truly an
incredible car from almost every standpoint. It would take me some time to
point out all its features. The amazing conclusion I came to is that I really
prefer driving my C320. This is solely because of the steering response. I
prefer the heavier feel of the C320 steering along with it's natural centering.
The E500 steering feels too slow to me. I guess it's just my many years of
driving sports cars that makes the C320 feel better to me. I really believe
the new E class is possibly the best overall car you can buy at any price and
the steering feeling that I don't like will probably be ideal for most people.
