2005 C230 Kompressor
Hey All

Hey everyone.

So I went and did it. After driving and 88 Cherokee for a long time, I figured it was time to get a little classy. I got myself a 2005 C230 K SS, Black on Black with wood trim and let me say, I absolutly love it.

Im pretty new to the whole MB experience and im just looking for a few helpful pointers.

1. Ive got the stock rims on the car, and thats definitly the first thing im looking to upgrade. Im from Toronto, and just wondering if anyone has and good places in Ontario/Canada to get some rims and rubber for a good deal. Im looking for 19" and maybe I could even possibly get some suggestions for tires and offsets. Also, will it be necessary to lower the car, or put different springs?

2. How painful would it be to replace the tips on my muffler. I dont think I want to replace the whole muffler as im just looking for something shiny for asthetic purposes. Would it be easy to add a nice set of dual chrome tips to my existing muffler without it affecting my warrenty with mercedes. Also any stores or places for tips would be helpful.

3. I bought the car used, and it has a phone keypad on the right side of the stereo. Ive read around the forum and cant seem to find an answer to my question. How do I hook up my phone to this? Ive got a motorola RAZR.

4. Im also looking to put Sirius in my ride. Am I better off just getting a unit that plugs into the 12v or can I get a procedure done to get it to be working like its built in. Also, on my stereo, what is the CDC button used for?

5. Ive also been looking for a lip spoiler for the back trunk. Ive looked around and the ones ive found have been a bit to bulky for my liking. Im looking for the very small one often seen on BMW's. And help or suggestions there.

Thanks for your time guys. This seems like a great a knowledgable forum, and any help would be much appriciated.

Regards

Welcome and congrats on the new car.

All of these topics have been covered numerous times here, so do a search and you will find plenty of answers and solutions. Head over to the W203 forum as there is alot of modding going on in there.

I've got someting like that, but then again, my rubber is stretched. 19x9.5 is the norm i believe. Welcome to the site.

try the aftermarket exhaust thread, but i think that it wouldnt be painful at all to put new tips on (correct me but isnt the 05 the first year with stock valence space for tips?)

as for the CDC button...i think it calls the Center for Disease Control? no clue but push it...worst case your car explodes, right?

as for the spoiler...look at the C55 or C32 OEM spoiler, i think you can get them both from mbenznl, and just search around, eventually you'll find something you like.

a quarter mile at a time
1. lots of info about rimms. sizes, tires, offsets, all very important, especially on the sport sedans because of the large front calipers

2. You should have 1 big fat oval tip right now. You could probably get a C32 or 2007 muffler with the dual tips. You won't see a performance increase though

3. The only solution right now is a MHI phone kit and a bluetooth puck.

4. I think there is a way to get it integrated. I believe sirius is offered as a factory option. the CDC button is for the CD Changer. If you have the CD changer, you use this button. You can also hold it down to enable the AUX input.

5. Sounds like the lip spoilder for the 2007's might be what you're looking for.
