GL450
C230 Loner Questions
Dropped off the GL450 and they gave us a C230. It says Sport on the side and has AMG stamped on the tail pipes. It doesn't have AMG anywhere on the engine(V-6). This car is so fun to drive! The shifter goes in to manual mode when moved left or right. I don't want to give it back. Would like to know more about it.

sounds like you have the C230 Sport Sedan....
Just got mine about 2 weeks ago...an '06. 'downsized' from and Caddy DTS and a Lincoln Aviator to 'save gas'...and it does...most of the time...when I am not racing through the gears and slinging it around the corners of the drive from home to work....but as you state it is very fun to drive and relatively economical.....I will say that it is like have 2 different cars...it behaves quite different in the "c" mode than it does in the "s" mode..great 7-speed transmission to thank for that!
Seems as though this should be in the W-203 thred as there are not any (at least not loners of the W-204) if in fact you are in a W-204...take some pictures!

that is typical Mercedes-Benz....
they always carry over the last generation engine into the new chassis line-up.
Happened with the C230K from W202 to W203

yeah, it isnt an AMG, thats just how the 07's are, they put AMG tips on it and an AMG bodykit.

I'm on my second (wanted a V-6 after owning the Super'd 4), and I know I'll end up buying a W204 C350 in the next year or two if they get smart and offer it with the 6spd.
