? for the C w/ baby seat
When I install baby seat in our other car I have to jump in to a seat to make it tight fit. But if I put the baby seat in the MB, is it gonna permanent damage my leather seat. Can you put anything between seat and baby seat to protect it?
I search the and found the latch belt @ Amazon. It is on order.
Thanks guys

although i don't have leather, i use a thin pillow (hello kitty ). i've also used a towel to prevent seat indentations.
on my other car, we bought a waterproof underlayment type of thing... i'd recommend that for unexpected liquids.

Rather than something soft, like a towel, how about something firmer, like a double layer of corrugated paper ("cardboard"), cut to the dimension of the leather insert.
The idea is to spread the pressure point of the baby seat thingies over the entire seat so they don't make impressions. Sitting the seat on a firmer surface will spread the pressure points and the firmer surface will press down evenly on the leather insert, rather than in sharply focused points that create the indentations.
Tape a few layers of corrugated together and test... if it works then consider replacing with a clear sheet of urethane or plexiglass or similar(with sanded edges) etc.

the britax seat is like that. there are no sharp edges on the bottom. it is rounded and covers a good amount of surface area.
but no matter what you do (even if you just sit on it 24 hours a day) it will leave some impressions on the leather.
ok, there is one painful thing you can do.
after you remove your child from the seat, unbuckle the chair. this will release the pressure from your seat.
i don't know anyone who does that, but it would seem like the most effective solution.

I don’t know if it is available for the C-class, but I got the Mercedes rear seat cover for the E-class. Does not prevent the indention, but it protects the leather from spills and scratches. The fit is excellent. If you are interested I could take some pictures to post.

Camping foam
I'd get a piece of camper's foam (the kind people sleep on with their sleeping bags) cut it to the right size. Just have to find a decent color.
Helps with all of the problems, indentations, spills, not too soft and not too firm.

You could probably buy the "baby-smart"-connector as a separate piece of make one yourself form a baby seat in order to fool the airbag system.

I've exhausted my research into alternate ways to turn off the airbag in my SLK320 (no backseats), but to no avail, found no aftermarket sensor mats (see below link, made by siemens, now you know what it looks like, but can't get it!). Even the MB dealers don't have any delivery dates on the newer (revised from recalled seats) ones.
A person from Siemens knew of no aftermarket products/parts either.....luckily I found a used MB Booster seat on e-bay just this week. I understand that there a 3 types of seats, the booster being what I needed for +40lbs. Before I luckily found the booster seat, I even considering buying the MB infant seat (seen on e-bay too) and tearing out the sensor to fit my non-MB child booster seat.
Oh well, let me know how you make out....
