keyless go?

After going to the dealership and they haven't no idea how to do the XENON=PRESENT i stf and found the pics on how to do this process. I notice that under that there is a KEYLESS GO menu. Anyone have any idea what this is for, like push start or actual keyless start.

you have to push "start" regardless. the settings in there is probably for options like.. unlocking driver side door or all 4 doors at once.etc.

Keyless go is a system where it detects a wireless signal from a key and allows you to start the car using a button, sometimes on the dash and sometimes on the shifter, to start the car without inserting the key itself. Retrofitting it isn't worth the trouble.

Another interesting thing to note on this screen is the entry "Easy-shift manual transmission." So I guess that is what Mercedes calls the shift mechanism I found in Dubai. Interesting.

In order to get keyless go on this car, there would have to be so many internals changed. Sunman was the only one I've ever seen talk about attempting it, but he decided it wasn't worth the money and time it would take.

In the picture you've shown, this is a star diagnose screen, but it isn't specifically just for the w203. So the keyless go option being set to present wouldn't do anything for the w203.

My car is about 50% finished with Keyless Go. It seemed like a good idea at the time and I basically wanted to test out the ability to rewire my car. When I am done the only system which will be old in my car will be the airbag system which I didnt mess with.

You are generally right about what you said. Activating the option is of no consequence without the hardware.

You will want to have a close look at a CLK with Keyless Go. That is the nearest cousin to the W203. There are trunk and door buttons and a shifter button.

Keyless Go is a whole network inside the car which runs on its own and talks to the ignition switch.
