7.5J x 17 ET 37, tyre size 225/45 R17
8,5J x 17 ET 34, tyre size 245/40 R17 (RA)

I think it's possible (although unlikely) to get away with a 17x8 with a 235/45 17 tire. The Audi A4 has this kind of set-up. This tire is larger in diameter and circumference, so your speedometer might be off a bit. You'll be going slightly faster than your indicated speed.
