Upgrade options for a c180

OK i did a STFF and the STEW (search the entire web) and couldn't find anything concrete.

I have a 2002 c180. It has a 2.0L engine. What mods can I do to the engine to increase power? I mean is there a supercharger I can add ala Kleemann? Or can I add a kompresser from a c230? The nice thing here in Egypt that the labor is cheap. And before anyone says anything about cheaper to buy a "c whatever" taxes make this impossible.

So any feedback?

I believe if you check carefully the engine is a 1.8L not a 2.0L

It'll be a waste of money and time to add anything to that engine, it's better to get a used C200K.

The engines for the C180, C200, C230 Kompressor are very similar however the compression ratios are different that allow for more boost, I am sure the valve timing is different, and probably has a hotter cam

Model / compression ratio / horsepower / torque lb-ft
C180 10:1 143 162
C200 9.3:1 163 177
C230 8.7:1 189 192
C230 V6 11.2:1 201 181

I don't think it is as simple as bolting on a different supercharger

He was reffering to pre facelifted engine (forgot the code), it's a 2.0L not 1.8L.

just like the US C230K (M271) is really a 1.8L not a 2.3L M111 C230K.

M271 should of been called a C180K

They have M271 engines that are C180Ks...

If you look elsewhere (such as Europe and Asia) they have C180, C180K, C200K, and C230K. Between the years of 2003-2005; they all used the same 1.8 liter M271 engine. However, the number would increase by the size of the supercharger. Thus, the C180 has no supercharger, C180K has a small supercharger, C200K has a medium supercharger, and C230K has a large supercharger.

yes, that is common knowledge.

but in the US, the only M271 engine is the 1.8L w/ Kompressor.
That was the point I was trying to make.
