Clear Bra
Getting my front bumper repainted due to rock chips and was wondering if I should get the clear bra for the front. I've checked around for price quotes and gotten anywhere between 400-600. I dunno how much they usually go for but does that seem fair? Are clear bras worth it?

would you wrap your tool before sleeping with a hooker? ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
I think the clear bra is worth it, especially if you're repainting your bumper.

I have a clear bra on my car. I go through an Xpel dealer who plot cuts the pieces out on Venture Shield and then puts them on.
On my car I got:
Extended hood, fender and door mirrors
Bumper
Rocker Panels
Headlight and fog lights
All for about $575.00 installed.

Its either I get the clear bra or I get the roof/trunk lip spoilers. I was leaning towards that because since I am getting it painted its gonna cost me an extra 20 dollars. But the pieces are not cheap.

I don't see how it's different. If you've ever seen a car with a clear bra and one without after 50K you will see the difference there. I've gotten quoted $800 for my local shop to just paint a hood. So a $575 bill is a no brainer to me.

I had a clear mask on my '03 and on my '06 ML, but didn't get it on my '05 C. The front bumper on my '05 C looks horrible and I completely regret not getting it installed (keep in mind I commute about 100 miles to/from work each day, so wear and tear is higher than most). I was quoted $700 to get the full mask installed. If you're spending the money to get the bumper repainted I would definitely get the mask or you'll end up repainting again in the future.

i got clearbra done here in ny for about 400, well worth it IMO, especially on darker colored cars. youd be surprised how much damage a bug can do when going 70+ mph, not to mention rocks and salt from the trucks...

There was one bad thing i heard about clear bra's. There is a guy who works at the shop where i get my cars tinted told me about this guy who had a clear bra on his car. When it was time to replace it, he said that it also took off the paint.
It sounds scary but i guess you just have to get the right brand. IIRC he had a 3M brand.

I'll wait after I get the lips and see how much I can save up.
Thanks for all input.

I've had Llumar, 3M and Ventureshield and I prefer VentureShield. The Ventureshield is optically clearer than the rest. The other's had more of an orange peel look which I didn't like.
