Debadge or Not?

What do you think? I like the look but was just wondering what others thought about it. Would it look tacky?

yeah, i like the debadged look (on the black coupe, anyway), but the "D" needs to go as well.

I think most cars look much cleaner without the badges. Mine were taken before I left the dealership.

Nobody likes the big "D" for Deutschland? I think it helps give some contrast to the back end especially with the badges gone.

what's involved with debadging a car that's got some mileage on the paint? does it run the chance of leaving a mark; does it require paintwork?

I think you should worry more about that BIG "D" then the badges...

The rear of the coupe does look much cleaner without the badges. The big "D" looks a little out of place, but doesn't look bad.

I think the "D" must go. Not even the germans have these ugly stickers on their cars. Why should you?

DtS is right

The country oval stickers went the way of the Dodo since the Europeans started using the Euro-plates with blue bands on the left side in the early 1990s.

And the oval stickers always were ugly. If you're not German, or not at least able to converse in German, take it off. It looks like hell on that nice car.

About debadging, I can't believe that you took the other stuff off and left that white monstrosity on! Debadge if you must, but now Europeans will think you're only driving a C 180. Heh heh

You're asking if the car would look cleaner if you took off the small badge, however you have that mammoth D sticker.

Get rid of the sticker, it uglifies the car!

Hmmmmm, I like the more symetrical, balanced look of the original badges.

Hi there,
definately looks better debadged. here's an idea for the Germany sticker... Get yourself an EU plate if you can with the D already printed on, it will look a lot smarter.

...and WTF do people in the US put oval state stickers on their cars??? I see two dozen (NH) oval stickers every day on the highway. Like I couldn't tell from the license plate where the car was from?? Or is it just a NH thing?

BTW: I de-badged my car. Love it.

I reckon if you want to keep the D then you should keep the other badges too...otherwise it has to be totally naked!

I don't think so...just read in another thread to use dental floss...in a sawing motion and maybe use a hairdryer to heat the glue a bit...the only marks on your paint job should be glue residue. All you may need to do later is to give it a bit of polish then wax over it!
