Is The "C" Class Boring??
Howdy Folks:
While looking through my new Car And Driver Page A Day Calendar, I came across Nov 19, (B. Silver C32) which stated that the "C" Class was boring except for the C32. Since I'm new to MB ownership, am I destine to become bored after the newness wears off? Will I have to compromise my priorities and purchase a C32. Would it help any if I put off my first trip to the mountains?
Thanks, Gene

Where do you all get those "Mr. Peanut" lenses? (Just kidding)

OK Folks:
Here it is straight. I'll post a better photo when the weather co-operates. I did order the Co-Pilot compass today. Maybe we can come up with "untouched" 12V wiring.

c class is elegant (some find that boring). i find too many of the same car also boring. the c-class is relatively rare. i would add the c-coupe as not boring also - its a sport coupé ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
btw, gene, you need a better camera. the pic and your avatar are really dark.

I agree with it being elegant. I was afraid of keeping the oyster interior clean, but it really highlights the interior. My favorite view of the car is standing at the mirror and looking forward along the front fender and hood... those classic lines make my mouth water.
My camera is a little Sony DSC-S30. The photo & avatar were taken at night, without flash, under flourescent lighting (640x480). It's definitely not a high end Olympus. When the sun comes out, I will get a better picture.

The C-class is not boring at all. If you don't believe me, take a GM sedan for a test-drive and then hop into a C-class. I just put 700 miles on a rental 2001 Buick Century for my weekend in Las Vegas. THAT was a boring car, with its bench seats, column shifter, no tachometer, weak engine, pillow-soft suspension. The body roll was so bad, I thought the side mirrors were going to drag on the ground going down a freeway ramp. So no, the C-class is a very competent, energetic car. Maybe not the fastest ride, but not "boring" by any stretch of the imagination.

My 320 is replacing my 95 Impala SS (Chevy AMG). It's probably the closest thing to a Nascar ride of any of the big GM "B" bodies. but even it is boring (and a tad slower accelerating) in contrast to my 320. I'm still concerned about the newness wearing off. I work for DC, and the last I heard, the C32 is not eligible for a discount. I first considered the Maxima & Altima. What was I thinking!
