$320 to fix steering problem
so i posted earlier the week about my steering problem and a member on the forum replied and told me to not bother asking since i have warranty. anyways rallye called me up for 320 bucks they said that i have to change the transfer case fluid which is $85. Takes 2.3 hours to do and they charge $115 each hour. has anyone ever had this problem before??? are they rippin me off?? when i steer the car makes a thumping noise and vibrates

What the hell does a transfer case have to do with your steering??? I had some steering/suspension problems a while back. Mine were all related to bushings, struts, etc.... The noise from my steering was being caused by a loose power steering rack. They lock-tighted it and tightned the ***** out of it, no more noise.

Did you check your steering fluid? If it's low it'll make some noise.
Yeh sounds a little fishy to me too.....
sheldon,
you know rallye is a complete rip-off!, they are independent MB dealers/service centers.
transfercase has nothing to do with your steering wheel.
either, theres a problem with the PS pulley, bushings, etc.
the "liquid" they can change is to do a power steering fluid flush.
trust me. dont go back to rallye.
