Anybody have a cup that actually fits in the C-Class cupholder
Has anybody found a decent insulated cup that actually fits in the
useless C-Class cupholder which is "more form without function"
I like the way it opens up. But I have dared not to use it especially the upper lip which opens like a flower. What was the
smart guy who designed it thinking. I cannot even keep a bottle of water in it without it tumbling on the next turn.
It would really hurt if I spilled coffee or any other sticky beverage
inside my pristine interior because of the flimsy cupholder.
Does anyone have any mods for that cupholder ? Do you know of any spillproof cups or where I can get one.

the lower holder can hold a can. the really cool upper one will hold either a Nissan stainless steel coffee mug or Starbucks stainless steel coffee mug really well. they both have the narrower bottoms with a wider top.

My Tim Horton's coffee almost every morning fits perfectly in the cup holder, and I have yet to spill a drop.
My only complaint is the one thing I also like about the cupholder, the retention piece. You have to have a curved bottom cup or the retention piece gets caught on the cup and its hard to get into the cupholder.

I don't understand, the cup colder works great for beer cans, the official drink of Germany. Just be thankful you don't own one of those new CLK's, one cup holder and it comes out of the dash in front of the passenger airbag. Let's see you get that beer can out of your passenger's chest when the airbag goes off!

You shouldn't run red light, shouldn't speed, shouldn't roll stop signs, when is this madness going to stop? When will we be free to enjoy that cup of coffee in the morning, chat on the cell phone, play with the MP3 player and not have to worry about "shouldn'ts"? Why did they put 10 airbags in the car if it wasn't meant to be used?

You can really tell it's Friday in this thread!
24oz. Poland Springs sport bottles fit nicely in the holder. Never fallen out and there's one in there any time my wife is in the car. It also holds her Dunkin Donuts foam coffee cups with out spilling.
I realize this doesn't answer the original question about thermal mugs but, hey it's Friday....

In Europe (and obviously in Australia too) the cupholders are not stock equipment. You can order one from your dealer if you really need one...

These damn European cars just don't understand the American car way. They got too much style and too litle access. Americans need an extra large SUV type cup holder to get the supersized soda and popcorn.
And what about a supersized MB truck, so the American can raise the suspension and put those ultra big tyres and wheels on.
We need to split the list and move the damn Euros out.
