Thumbs up ASP pully installed

New spec pully installed. Its great!

The belt can now slide on and off without removing the pully!

1st gear is kind of hard to tell the difference, just cause its so short anyways...

but 2nd, 3rd, 4th to redline is amazing. (dont have hte ballz to redline to 5th hehe)

Engine/SC runs louder at idle...but for me is over masked by my radio.
everyone get one!.. the install took only 1hr.. but that was taking our time and small talking through the whole thing.

Mine isn't any louder at idle. Make sure the belt is sitting in the grooves of each pulley. It's sometimes hard to see the s/c pulley because it's buried in there.

Firstkill, are you "Dustin"????? I just did an ASP pulley installation on a 2002 C coupe today too. The new ASP pulley spec. is now a little bit smaller and so the accessories belt can be remove/re-install without remove the crank pulley. Where Kleemann pulley, you have to remove the pulley before you can remove/re-install accessories belt. I like the new ASP spec pulley!!

I assume that this is not the same as the ASP pulley we been discussing about?

The 'old spec' pulley is larger in diameter and requires a larger belt replacement where as the 'new spec' is smaller and therefore uses the existing belt???

But the install process/procedure is the same right ???

Peace

No, still requires the same belt, it's only 1/8" smaller.

Hi linh, yep that was me.

I am driving a stick, and I cant tell fuel consumption yet because I havent driven enough. I will do some longer driving ( 100 miles or so tomorrow ) to test it out.

But i dont floor it all the time....

I left my ecu settings stock. Even though it runs a little lean... i dont think i will run into any problems... as I dont drive in hte "lean territory often"

I'm not sure I understand - I put the accessory belt back without a problem *after* the crankshaft pulley was installed... And mine is "old-spec" ASP pulley.

vadim,

you could get the belt past the crank pully and waterpump pully with the old spec pully? Or did the belt need to be put back there before the crank pully was installed?

I think Lihn is referring to his car, there'a a bracket on his SLK that comes real close to the pulley and you can't remove the rear accesory belt without moving the pulley out a little, but with the ASP pulley for his SLK you can remove the belt. Not an issue with the C-Coupe.

No belt issues whatsoever. There is enough room with the ASP pulley on to put both belts in place.

Buellwinkle: sorry, I forgot what car linh had...
