The story goes:

She was driving into the round-a-bout making a left towards the light. I was following about a car length away when she abruptly stopped.

I appropriately applied the brakes and slowed to a complete stop. Not realizing she could not make the turn she shifted into reverse and backed into the car.

During that time I had the gear box from 1st to Reverse very quickly, released the clutch, and threw my hand on the horn. I tried my best to avoid her, but by then it was too late.

The situation: It is to be fixed directly by the Autobahn's preferred auto shop. Furthermore, thankfully it is not my fault. Lastly, would it be possible to change to a AMG / Carlsson bumper?

Honestly, it has been a long time since I have researched this these after-market parts let alone searched the forum.

I'm open to ideas / suggestions, and thoughts on after-market paint (i.e. paint on bumper repairs). I'll add pics later.

Thanks!

Jon

You drive a W203... why on W204 forum? Or you just get a new W204?

No, 2004. But it was mint. No scratches. No accidents. Washed and waxed. Pampered from the very day we bought her. I died a little inside....

We're bringing it in for an estimate this week. The woman who backed into me kept insisting to bring it to a body shop she knows....I declined and insisted that this repair would be better dealt with by Autobahn themselves.

Yes the car is a W203 haha i noticed that a while ago. I can't believe the new C300 is out! Nice.

I think you might want to try the W203 forum for your bumper question as the W204 definately has a different bumper.

So sorry to hear about your car though...
