C230K or RSX-S 0-100
Anyways... i just wanted to know since there is a straight away near my school... where i can top out close to 100 and safely stop.... my friend says his rsx-s is a rocket and my c-coupe can't take it on.... i was just curious, since he has no mods on it.
DAMN... now i can't wipe that smug look on his face seeing that his car is superior than mine... well in speed that is... other factors such as handling and stability, i don't know
really that sucks!

off the line, however, he'll crush you.

We really aren't talking a big diff in speed here folks...I don't know why being .5 seconds faster makes the RSX a 'race car'. On the street, that's a wash. Ive done the stop light to stop light drags with the Type S...he's very confused at the next light. I know if we pushed it beyond the drag up to the speed limit, he'd beat me, but the confused looks of the driver when the coupe jumps out initially, and stays ahead till just about third gear are worth it. Its fun...try it. Any pulleyed Coupesters go up against an RSX???
Your buddy thinks he's got the better car, eh? Ask him this...would your C be faster(than it is now) with the RSX-S engine? Or would the RSX be faster(than it is now) with the C230Kompressor's engine? Its pretty easy to answer that one. The lack of torque in the 2.0L Honda mill would make the heavier C feel like a lead sled. 208ft-lbs of torque in the RSX-S(and the same HP as before) would make the RSX-S a very fast little car. And if that's not enough, point to a Cavalier and go "Hey look, there's another RSX like yours..."
RSX's not a bad ride, but I prefer the Benz.

It is true that the C-coupe is not a sports car, mainly for the weight. As a result of the stereotypically high Benz weight, most other aspects related to racing (handling, 0-60, etc.). If you wanted a Kompressor inside a sports car, the more obvious choice would've been the SLK (if you have the money).
What's with the defensiveness? It was a simple question, and correctly answered (the answer's pretty obvious, though).
Hey, Buell, how about you race with your car and your pulley, and let the RSX owner take the difference in price, and use it in the aftermarket. Who do you think would win? :p
They're different cars for different people. Just try to shoehorn someone in the rear seat, or put more than a backpack in the back of the RSX, and you'll see that as well.
You silly people and your dreams. The RSX will win, of course.
As far as the aftermarket goes...there's not much out there for the RSX-S right now...besides intakes(which on a Honda, are good for at 50HP, right? Stickers add even more....). Its an entirely new engine architecture compared to the old 'Tegra mill.

The c230 is just as much as much a race car than the RSX. just because mercedes bult the car better and made it heaver does not mean it was not designed for sporty driving. the rsx cant do anything good but go kinda quick in a straight line.
Just because there are alot of cheap to expensive mods for acuras/hondas dont make them race cars, and just because the c230s aftermarket parts are expensive is besides the point.
Maybe they are just confusing the NSX with RSX, honest mistake. And no, the coupe with all the bolton performance goodies won't beat an NSX.
But even with alot of work and ALOT of money it is possible to make the c230 beat a NSX, but no, not everything will be bolton.
Keywords there were ALOT of money.

To me both cars are about the same price when you give allowances for extras. What mods can the RSX get for $350 that would help it compete, an AEM intake, a chip, maybe, but it will still be underpowered compared to a pullied C230.
Well, with your pulley on the ccoupe, that gives the rsx what, a hair over $3k to work with? I know that there's not much out there for it yet, but you should be able to get a cai/h/e for what, 1500, that'll put it at around 210 or so at the flywheel, throw on a Clutchmasters clutch and flywheel, so that it revs quicker and you can dump it repeatedly, and you're now at about 2 grand. Still gives you 1k to foo around with on adj gears, fpr, or suspension bits. Or take the $3k and put together a turbo, if that's even possible yet. In either case, it'll beat the snot out of the ccoupe.
Black's right, though. Neither car should be confused with a race car, but the original point of this thread was a comparison between the two cars, and the rsx is more of a race car than the ccoupe.
