HID lights

I have noticed that different mercedes models (like the S or CL class) have different HID lights. The higher-end models have more of a "blue" tint on their light and it is much brighter. If you've ever seen audi HID lights they are much more attractive. Does anyone know where I can get different bulbs for my HID system that will make my lights more like those?
Thanks,

Supposedly, HIDs come in stage I or stage II, the latter being more purpley. I don't think you can just swap the bulbs between the two types of true HID systems.

Here's a link http://www.hids4less.com/stage_i_vs_stage_ii.htm

I just talked with those people and they told me that all I need to do is buy the new bulbs ($469) and just replace my old ones. I will keep looking, hopefully someone has them for a little cheeper.

How hard was it to install those xenons. I'm defenatly getting them but i cant decide on stage 1 or 2. Do you have any pics of your car with the lights on. Did you have to get the Mercedes shop to reprogram the car to accept 35w bulbs. I think I heard somewhere that the car will not recognize them proprly if the computer isnt reprogrammed.
Any info is welcomed
Thanks
Tim

Shakru, you are talking about 6000K HID,
C-Class is using D2R type, you can simply change it by yourself

Hey MarkL thanks for the welcome. I have been busy lately so I did not get a chance to visit the board.

Addy, do you know were I can get 6000K bulbs for my C?

TimmyC230boy
If I can give you one word of advice, that would be "don't buy the imitation bulbs". No matter what the company tells you, the bulbs will never look like the realy system. In my previous car I tried the bulbs, and not only they were not that good looking, but they burned out after about 2 months.
There is aloso an option of buying a HID kit. From what I hear phillips makes a good one that runs for about $500.
If you are serious about the HID system for your car I would buy the whole OEM light. I know that www.autoclass.net sells the whole lights.

yup

I really want to get the HID kit from HID4Less.com. I just have to save up the money and order them. Plus when i get rid of the car I can take them out and use them on my next car if the have the H7 bulbs. I cant decide on which one to get though. Stage 1 or 2. I think the stage 1 are the regular xenons that are in MB, BMW Audi etc. Stage 2 are a good bit more $# and they look purple. So i Doubt that I will get those.

Thumbs up stage I or II

TimmyC230boy:
If I was you I would wait a little longer, save up more money and go with Stage II. I have seen cars with the Stage II lights and they are much better. (if you are going for the "cool" look). If you are going for the "more visibility of the road" then go with stage I since they supposed to be much brighter (more white light).

Which ones did you get

So, the stage 1's are brighter. But the stage 2 are cooler looking. I would like to get stage 2's, by the way, I thought that the website said that the stage 2's are brighter. anyway, I'm just worried that the stage 2 will be too bright. We have some really crazy cops around here just waiting to fill there ticket quota. They got me for a burn't out taillight. Because I had my rear foglights on too he thought that my right side light was out, I went to court and had it dropped but it was a big hassle. Thas why I would like to get the stage 1's. Please keep us informed of the easyness or dificulty of the installation process.
Thanks Sharku
