The Best of Mercedes & AMG
First post here. I just picked up an 05 c230k and i wanted to share some of my photoshop knowledge.
First ill start with lowering a vehicle. the examples i will be using will be from several threads i helped out on when i used to frequent a mini truck forum
So, i start by selecting the polygonal lasso tool with a 1 to 2 pixel feather. Then select the entire upper portion of the photo. I continue all the way down and select the lower portion of the vehicle and up into the wheel wells. Its best to move in small increments and zoom in so that your getting a nice smooth line that follows the body. Now u should have the wheels and the ground as the only things not selected. it should look somewhat like this

Then i copy and past the selected area and paste it. This creates a new layer on top of the original photo. Then i drag that down until the desired drop is acheived. Finally use the crop tool to get rid of the double image at the top of the page.
Then regardless if u have changed the wheels or not u will have to shade them to make up for the new "casting" of the shadow on the wheels. for ex. as constructive criticism on the white bmw earlier in the is thread. if u look at the top side of the tire near the body it still has highlights on it. This should not be as prevelant in my opinion. For this i use the burn tool with several sizes and exposures. Then select the original layer that includes your wheels only. this way u will not shade your body. again practice practice practice. here is an example of some shading i did when i slammed my evo from forza motorsport 2
before:

after:

Also, shading the underside of the vehicle is important as you bring the vehicle closer to the ground. i did not do much on the above example because the body is pretty much on the ground and not much room for a shadow to cast.

there's a link to more pictures of the wheels if someone needs a better shot of them to use in a 'chop.

What do you guys think? I actually don't think it looks too bad even though it has no lips.
