V60 Installed Today
I had my V60 Phone installed today. It is quite cool.
Got a Timeport phone, cradle, cradle cord, and PSC unit for sale. Only $300.00 still new.. Had it since Late October.
Any takers?

Can I hook it up through the alltel network.What model number is it? I dont really care about having the phone features working although it would be nice. Was it hard to install or was it something that the MB shop would have to do?

The phone is for AT&T service.
I had the dealer do the upgrade, but it doesn't look too hard... the hard part is getting the psc unit in. It goes under the center console.

Location of phone mic.
I'm getting the phone option in my new C230. I know the audio is fed through the speakers, but can anyone tell me where the mic is? I had this arrangement (albeit aftermarket Nokia) on a 1998 Passat, and the folks I called always complained about the quality of the audio. Anyone have any real world experience? What about with the sunroof open? Thanks in advance.

What dealer installed for $1200? That is cheaper then what I am being quoted.
Why is the V60 better then the Timeport. I use a StarTAC (AT&T) today and assumed I could use all of my batteries and chargers with the Timeport so I was leaning that way. Is there an advantage to the v60 other then it looks better?

2. brushed aluminum finish, more durable then the timeports plastic
3. voice dialing OUTSIDE the car kit
4. 2 way SMS
5 ability to record up to 2 minutes of voice notes, or 2 minutes of your phone call
6. expanded/improved phone book
7. musical rings (who cares)
8. FM headset available, mp3 headset available 1stQ '02
9. external caller id window

2. its larger size makes it harder to lose
3. 3 color display, looks great in the dark
i think its overwhelming, if your getting a kit, might as well get the v60. you bought the benz, your getting a pricey phone option, but now your trying to save on buying an extra desktop charger
